Well-adjusted and maintenance-free drum brakes are mounted only on the rear wheel. Children can safely gain their first experience with a brake. The brake lever has been specially designed for small children, ensuring that even while braking, the child firmly holds the handlebars. The 12.5-inch pneumatic tires of the PUKY LR 1L Br provide optimal comfort and maximum grip on all surfaces while being very quiet. This makes PUKY balance bikes with pneumatic wheels the ideal vehicle for ambitious riders who are already riding a bit faster. The handlebar grips protect children's delicate hands and secure the ends of the handlebars. The raised front of the "banana" shaped saddle ensures that the push-off force is transferred to the vehicle, and the child does not slide off the saddle. The low frame ensures safe mounting and dismounting. Thanks to the footboard, the rider can comfortably place their feet while riding downhill. This keeps the center of gravity at the right height, ensuring safe riding even at higher speeds. We deliberately do not use steering limiters on our balance bikes. This means that during a fall, the handlebars lie flat on the ground, significantly reducing the risk of potential injuries.

Child-friendly brake - Everything under control
All PUKY brakes have been specially designed for our vehicles and are continuously improved. Making brakes for children requires a lot of experience in adapting them to a child's needs. Of course, scientifically developed standards define the maximum and minimum braking forces. But the child's anatomy poses an additional challenge for our designers. The small diameter of our handlebars and grips allows for a firm hold on the handlebars during braking. Specially adapted brake levers are particularly well-suited for children's small hands, and special brake pads enable smooth braking.
Specially contoured saddle for balance bikes - Form follows function
The "banana" shaped saddle was specially designed for our balance bikes. It gives the child a secure seating position and supports the child's movements while pushing off. Since the push-off force is transferred only through the saddle, it was necessary to completely redesign the shape of the bicycle saddle to ensure the child's safety and good control of the vehicle.
Safety grips - Safety under control
Safe and child-friendly, this is the essence of all PUKY vehicles. PUKY was the first manufacturer to use specially contoured handlebar grips that prevent the child's hands from slipping off. This means the grips protect the child's hands in the event of an accident or when the child hits the handlebars. The grips have good traction, and their diameter is appropriate for children's hands, allowing them to hold on securely.
Low step-through frame
The low step-through frame on our balance bikes makes it easier to mount and dismount the bike. The beginner cyclist gets maximum comfort and safety. The gained confidence in riding the balance bike affirms the child's abilities. Achieving success in learning to ride takes less time, and the joy of riding is even greater.
Large footboard - Great fun with a large footboard!
Anyone can see how important a large footboard is by watching children ride. If the balance bike doesn't have a footboard, the child raises their feet high off the ground. The center of gravity moves up, and the entire vehicle loses stability. But if the feet are placed on a low-mounted and centrally located footboard, the riding track remains stable. There is no doubt - children love to use the footboard while riding.
Wheels with pneumatic tires 2.0" - Comfort and performance
Comfort and optimal surface grip are provided by pneumatic tires. Additionally, they allow modulating the suspension and rolling resistance of the wheels by changing the air pressure, depending on the child's personal preferences. Pneumatic tires require more care than foam wheels, but if comfort and optimal use of the balance bike are important to you, you should choose the LR 1 L balance bike!
Handlebar pad - Protection against impacts
No master has yet fallen from the sky, but every great cyclist has fallen off their bike at some point. So, just in case, to minimize the consequences of a fall, we put a large handlebar pad on our balance bikes. This minimizes the impact on the handlebars. As usual with PUKY, the pad material and foam have been tested by TÜV, are GS certified, free of contaminants, UV resistant, and exceptionally abrasion-resistant.
Continuously adjustable saddle and handlebars - It fits, it fits, it still fits...
To ensure good ergonomics and optimal usage time of the balance bike, the handlebars and saddle post in our LRM balance bikes are adjustable over a very wide range. This way, the vehicle constantly adapts to the growth of small riders.
